Title: Windows 10 ICS
Post by: WPA2 on February 28, 2019, 08:44:28 PM
Right I have got my self a device which requires internet sharing from my eth connection fir the past 2 weeks i was able to get it working but since removing avast it now worked straight away, why would avast block ics sharing.

I couldn't find an option in Avast to stop that any help would be grateful?>

Many thanks.

you dont say what avast you have, the one with firewall maybe?

Is your firewall network profile in private or puplic mode?

Setting up Firewall Application Rules in Avast Antivirus
https://support.avast.com/en-eu/article/Antivirus-Firewall-Application-Rules

=================================================================

NOTE:The Network profiles control the settings which determine how strictly Firewall protects your PC.

Private: a lower level of security suitable for when your PC is connected to a trusted network such as your home or work network.
This profile enables better connectivity, and permits all communication within the network.

Public: a higher level of security suitable for when your PC is connected to a public network such as in a cafe or airport.
Because public networks present greater security risks, no incoming communication is permitted when this profile is set.

Nope it was set to private  and still wouldn't work, i couldn't create a new rule for ICS as there wasnt the option for it.

Right so I reinstalled avast and disabled my ICS then disabled avast firewall and after setting up ICS again it worked so i restarted the firewall and its still ok.

So why can i not setup ICS with firewall active??

Cheers for the help so far.
