Hello, I am not able to install Avast Mobile Security 2019 from Google Play now (Google Play shows message "Device is not compatible with this version"). I can see here on your website, that Android 4.1 is still supported. But when I take a look to Google Play from my desktop PC, there is "Android 5 and up". I have Xperia Z1 compact with 4.4 Kitkat. Can you please bring the light here? In case my Android version is no longer supported, do I have any other option? Are there still any older versions available? thanks
David

Hi, you need Android 5 or higher for the latest version of AMS.
-
The latest AMS version that works on Android 4 is 16.6.4.

Hi, I was informed there was a problem due to which the Android 4 users were not able to install the 6.16.4 version from the app store.
Our team got in touch with Google and they sorted it out, so you should be able to download and install from Google Play again.

I have the 4.4.2 and I have also Avast!
Just download it from another site in apk (possibly a secure one) and install it.

The problem has been fixed by now and you can download and install from Google Play, as you have been used to.

I have a paid subscription for Avast antivirus. One of my mobiles has Kitkat 4.4.2 and after resetting the mobile I was unable to reinstall avast - "your device is not compatible with this version".
The post from Avast staff on 7th March 2019 doesn't seem to be correct.
I have been an Avast Customer from 2006, I hope something can be done
Thanks

Well a post from over a year ago, can't really be held as true today.
Whilst you had it installed on your old phone, without any changes I guess it could still work. However, you say you have reset your mobile and if you have gone to the Google Play store, it would have the latest Avast Mobile Security version. This would be incompatible with your old mobiles Kitkat 4.4.2 OS.
The only way I can think it might work if you were able to get a copy of AMS version 16.6.4 as a .apk you might be able to install that. From where and how to install the .apk file I don't know.
The only source for old .apk files I found was this one https://avast-mobile-security.en.uptodown.com/android/versions for 4.0.8139 the last before AMD 5.0.
EDIT: That said I really don't know if this old versions would be getting virus definition updates even if you got it installed.
