Title: What does Cleanup delete from Download files?
Post by: flycaster on March 15, 2019, 04:19:53 PM
Using Avast's Clean up premium I inadvertently have already erased some important aspects of Windows 10 and have had to reinstall W10.  However, I like to use Cleanup to delete from Downloads, but I'm just not sure what will be deleted.  Is everything in my Download folder deleted, or just stuff that were the setup files used to install downloaded software???  Thanks.

Nice fish!

AFAIK there  really is no clear-cut option to selectively delete files in any folder using Cleanup Premium.

Peacock bass from the Amazon.  Put into Miami waters about 30 years ago to control the tropical fish that were being dumped into the canals. However, they have only gotten to a max of 9 pounds, whereas in the Amazon one has a chance at fish in the 10-25 pound range.  This one was about 15#.

So, what you are saysing is that if I chose to cleand downloads, I'd be deleting everything in my Download folder, eh?

It is possible.  As long as there is a chance of that, I'd move downloaded files I wanted to keep elsewhere for safekeeping (like onto a separate USB hard drive) and then allow cleaning to proceed.  But not before I made a disk image of the system first.
