Sorry, but I haven't a better one (out there in the 'Lüneburger Heide'). But waiting for a present.

Win-slow. So slow. For months, I was asked to update programs that wouldn't install, didn't apply to my build, and the update files couldn't be found at MS. After the first time, I unchecked them. They finally disappeared. Updated 3 days ago, one wouldn't install. Now I've suddenly got 15. Let's see what takes.  :-X

1. Win-slow.
2. Now I've suddenly got 15. Let's see what takes.  :-X

1: Which Win (SP)?
2: I got 10 for my W7 desktop 'AMD_Athlon 1800+'  installed, that didn't finish! I'll try a repair, for W7
didn't return! So be careful!!! Better not install.

Windows 7 Home SP1
Intel Core i5-2430M 2.40 GHz

I just installed 14 out of 15 updates. Gotta reboot to see what 15 is. Prob the same one from last week. For the last year, I've had update after update that wouldn't install. I clean the crap out of my machine regularly. The disk drive just runs on. I just shut it down and disconnect it when I'm offline so I don't have to listen to it. I don't use this one much, there's not much on it, but it's gettin' time for another one. Next, I think I'll try a linux build.  ;D

This is still talking about "On April 9th, 2019, Microsoft released their April 2019 Patch Tuesday update" and the Avast Emergency Update relating to this has been released a short time after this.

Hi Dave, the crucial part is the possible explanation.
Unfortunately, there's no confirmation from MS yet...

There may very well be confict's with other AV's but not with Avast which is what this forum should be concentrating on.

Hi Bob, Avast has been affected and therefore it'd be good to know what caused it, imo.

There were conflicts with Avast from what I've read, this topic is also labelled "Windows Updates" so it doesn't necessarily have to concern Avast as does another thread on the forum which is for  Non-Avast security products.

+1  :)

But by now I don't really know, what I shall think about this all, for I lost my Win7 os [part of the Twin os] and I didn't get it back!  ::)  :o
Edit: AMD_Athlon 1800+ (see my sig, too).
