Title: Random High CPU Usage
Post by: Herry6 on April 19, 2019, 03:32:52 PM
This has been a little bit irritating when I recognize that my CPU fan spins heavily without me doing anything heavy stuff. When I open task manager, it was Avast that use around 15-17% of CPU for around 2 to 4 minutes. I opened Avast, there isn't any observable process like updating definition or program or scanning files. It's something beyond the surface that Avast doing something I didn't know. Perhaps virus? There isn't any notification about threats anyway. So far today, I counted that it happens 4 times already in a random time. In the previous days, it happened too but I was too busy to check it.

I regularly use Adobe programs and 3d software and I know so well when my CPU fan will spin faster during heavy image processing stuff. My PC spec is also considerably fast (i7 4770, 16GB Ram, GTX1060, healthy Samsung SSD). But in recent days, Avast adds another workload to my CPU. Could somebody help me what's going on?

Thanks for the suggestion!

I have tried to repair the program, but the random high CPU still happens by the time I am writing this.
SO I will try to do a clean install now. Let's see if it would help.
