Title: Avast blocked Windows 10 Wifi Hotspot
Post by: David2042 on June 05, 2019, 10:02:56 PM
Hello, there are many many reportings ogf this issue on Avast Forum but I did not find the solution.

I have a Windows 10 PC with Avast Internet Security which shares its internet Connection (Bridge/Hotspot). There is a Ethernet connection between my router and PC, and a wifi connection between my PC and other home devices.

Avast blocks devices to connect. When I disable Avast Antivirus, than other devices connect fine.

I have tried to work with the "System" and "svchost" firewall rules but did not manage to get it working. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi
Using Avast Premier, I personally have not had any issues connecting to shared Wi-Fi. I have tested with both Secureline connection and without.

Hopefully, others can/will comment or shed light on the issue you're having.

@Dawid2042,
Is your firewall set to private ???

I have tried both network options: private and public. No change.

Did you reboot after making the changes?

Did you also revert to Windows Defender firewall to see if that made a difference after a reboot?  You'll need to disable Avast Firewall to do this, on reboot Windows Defender firewall should automatically activate.
