Title: How to Restart the Avast service in Windows Services
Post by: rucompat on June 14, 2019, 02:45:33 PM
This functionality has been removed in recent versions of Avast. While I am fully aware of how to disable protections, this does not address the need sometimes to quit/restart Avast. Sometimes Avast (or AVG) will peg disk usage at 100%, while always, over time, the RAM usage increases, as is the case with most programs, when you don't regularly restart Windows.

All other programs I use that accumulate RAM I simply restart, such as the browser most notable, which I also used to do with Avast. Is there another way to do this? I've tried the "refresh" option in Services, which doesn't help.
