It's the webpage of the makers of this forum (I mean, the "software" it's running on - the scripts).
Why do you think it's malicious?

Didnt you people read what it says when you click on the Yabb link? And then choose more info?

Artras, could you be more specific?  ???

This link, as igor said, is the 'script software handler for the forums'. What is suspicious?

It is saying that I am directed to that site because some lamer has put a link to it. In the info I get on their next page. It says the same. I know it is supposed to be a link tot the creaters of this forum. Calling them lamers is not something I think is nice to do. Btw, if I now click on the yabb link I get and error for that page saying server disconnected

I see no message at all, no lamer, no trouble  ::)

I was directly send to the YaBB page...  8)

Oh forgot to tell, this is the only link I have discovered sofar that is doing this on my system. And ofcourse I checked for infections with Avast :D , housecall, checked for spy/addware with add-aware and Spybot S&D and I run TheCleaner. Just to be sure it is not an error here.

Here is some additional information. I had this link tested by about 7 other people using Opera. Looks like it has to do with the way Opera handles java or javascript. Disabling it in the preferences brings people to http://www.avast.com/forum/ when it is enabled they have the same thing as I have. We checked with several other browsers, Netscape, IE, Mozilla, MozillaFirebird and sofar the problem did not appear. We gonna try some other things/settings and will post it here if we come along some more information that might be usefull.

Ok, here is a part of my irc log file about a reaction I got when I asked them to try opera and the link:

[11:17] <Corydon> Artras Yabb site, but I have javascript, java, user agent, referrer all disabled
[11:18] <Artras> Corydon > strange thing it sometimes works, and sometimes it is showing a sponsored advertising/search page
[11:18] <Corydon> Artras if I enable js, referrer, and agent, it brings me to http://www.avast.com/forum/
[11:18] <Corydon> Artras actually it doesn't bring me to http://www.avast.com/forum/, it just closes the page that was supposed to open
[11:19] <Corydon> Artras if I enable js and referrer, while blocking agent--it brings me to the correct yabbse page

Clciking on the bottum link on the page I (see picture in previous msg) takes me to this site: http://www.zoneedit.com/lameinfo.html?zone=yabb.info I sure hope not too many people have the same thing going on. It's not nice for Avast and Yabb, which I think are very respectable companies.

Avast has nothing to do with this - we only use YABB SE forum software, we are not responsible for any DNS problems of third party companies. I check the template of this forum but the link is hardcoded and can not be changed. There is not much we can do about this!

BTW: It still works without problems from my side!

Ok, I informed Opera about this prog. With everything that (sofar) is said in this thread. Hope they can come up with something to solve it, cause it is only Opera who is doing this. If they respond I certainly will post it here. And ofcourse Pavel, it is not an error at Avast. I know that. Was just saying that I feel sorry for Avast this is happening. It is not nice when people get to see screens/sites like that when the click on one of the links here. Avast and Yabb don't deserve this. Have nothing but the highest respect for the entire Avast team, who do a great job. (btw thanks for the quick update with the new virus last night)

My knowledge of the english language ain't that good, so I hope you all will understand what I'm trying to say. Having problems to express myself clearly in english, sorry for that.

Artras, your command of the english is just fine!
Much better than I would be able to do with your first language--which is?
Latin, I do a fair job from my years of Catholic education from grade school on through my BSN (nursing degree)
