Title: Ransomware shield claims it protected folder without owning ransomware shield
Post by: DPX on July 10, 2019, 05:10:41 AM
Okay, Avast Pro Antivirus completed a malware scan and then claimed I had folders that were potentially vulnerable to ransomware. It asked me if I wanted to secure them, and I clicked yes. The program then said my folders were protected, but... I don't have ransomware shield.

So how do I check to see if the ransomware shield (which I don't have) actually protected or locked those folders, and how do I undo it if it did?

You didn't read anything I wrote, did you? I've seen the FAQ and it doesn't solve my issue. I want to know WHY Avast Pro Antivirus acted like it has Ransomware Shield (the program even said it locked down my folders) when I do NOT have it. Because of this, I don't know if it actually did do something or it's an error in Avast.
