Title: Newest version update won't install.

Does any have same problem with me? My newest version update won't install. I clicked install but it's rolling of end and says updating update file. Nothing happend i waited 1h and nothing.

What Operating system do you have ?

Have you had any other antivirus installed on this system and if so how did you remove it ?

If you used the on-line stub installer (a very small file), it could be down to internet connection issues.

Try using the off-line installation/setup file, see https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=228012.0 for download locations, if it is the free version you are looking to install the direct link is below.

http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe (http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe), remain connected when you install.

I have win 10 on laptop. I have only avast and windows defender but win defender is off. I don't have internet connection issues.

Still when I click shut down. It says avast antivirus installer is on. Don't shut down your computer. But what happens if I click nevertheless turn off?

By internet connection issues, that could mean problems connecting with the avast installation servers, not necessarily on your system or ISP.

I wouldn't rush to shutdown if the avast installer/installation is really still running.  Potentially it could corrupt your installation.

What avast processes you you see of avast running in the Task Manager ?

If you check the Windows Security Center what AV does it say is running ?
If you hover your mouse over the Avast Tray icon, what is displayed ?
