I don't use the avast cleanup program, but as far as I'm aware this is created by the OS, e.g. after receiving a feature update, such as window 10 version 1903.

Have you received a windows 10 feature update recently.
If this was indeed created by the OS after the feature update, deleting it will prevent you from being able to roll back.

Thanks
I thought it was Avast Cleanup that created it :P

But you are correct that a huge Windows Update was installed the same day as we installed and ran Avast Cleanup

Then I am pretty sure we can delete this folder..... the PC is only a few ways old, so I dont feel we need to be able to roll back to an earlier Windows version :)

Thanks

You're welcome.

Personally I would leave the windows.old in place, there have been many instances of bugs/collisions after a windows feature update.  I would suggest leaving it in place for 30 days, I think this is the MS advised limit after that a rollback may not be possible.

Unless of course you have any space limitation on you hard disk, which for a new system (if you meant "the PC is only a few wdays old") shouldn't be an issue.
