Title: Sharemouse blocked by firewall
Post by: nedw on July 16, 2019, 05:11:16 PM
Lately Sharemouse is being blocked by Avast (Premier) firewall. I've added an exception, tailored the application settings but this doesn't seem to work. The only way I can access other computers on my network using Sharemouse is by turning off the firewall. Suggestions?

Is your firewall network profile in puplic or private mode?

If in puplic, try setting it to private and reboot ...

My network is set to private. I've never had this issue before. I just had to add my application settings and there was no conflict.

Try the Geek Area settings, mentioned here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?msg=1505540

Not sure why but Sharemouse started working this morning with no intervention on my part. I went ahead and check the "Geek:area" settings as suggested anyway. Thanks for all the suggestions from the forum members.
