Title: My Avast Internet Security Not Responding

Using my wife's laptop, tried to run a scan for her.  Shortly after it started it just stopped!  Could not close it down.
Shut the computer off for a few minutes, restarted and Avast was still not responding.  Finally, I just had to turn the computer
off.  What's going on here?  Any ideas?       Thanks for any help you can provide!

You don't say what OS your using 32 or 64 Bit, or what version your using.

Have you tried a 'Repair' of your Avast installation?

It's Windows 10 1803, I believe.  And it's a 64-bit.  Do you need more info?

The same also at me, but I use the Free version. I ran an Smart Scan and it stopped at verifying the unupdated programs. I uninstalled it with the Avastclear.exe, and reinstalled it. But unfortunately, yesterday the problem still appeared. In a one word, it's a bug.

Instead open UI and select Performance>Software Updater.
