Title: Avast File Shield has found over 1000 threats, and it won't stop
Post by: Charlotte55 on August 12, 2019, 11:30:54 AM
Hi all,

I downloaded Avast yesterday after finding out that I had some malware on my computer, after my browser quit unexpectedly.

I ran a scan which found 43 threats and I put them into the vault/deleted them.

Since this, the Avast File Shield has continued to find threats, and has found over 1000. I've attached a screenshot of what it is finding. Could it just be that I have got a lot of malware on my laptop? (I didn't have any virus checker software before yesterday, and have had this machine for 3 years.)

Does anyone have any ideas of what could be going on?

MacOS:MaxOfferDeal-S [Adw] Adw = adware.  your browsers are probably full of crap

Let avast remove the crap it find
Also run Malwarebytes antimalware (free version) for Mac and let it remove what it find
