Title: Avast causing BSOD with any VM software
Post by: daveylee20 on August 16, 2019, 02:16:30 AM
This has been happening for about 2 months now. Out of the blue after an Avast update it started causing BSOD. I have a few different bits of software then opens in a virtual machine & all refuse to work as I either get an instant reboot or a BSOD.

I'm currently on Avast ver 19.7.2388 build 19.7.4674.494 as of 15th August.

Now I know this is Avast, because if I disable it, I can open & run any of the software without crash. As soon as i re enable it, it causes an instant crash. I also have other systems & some I don't use Avast on, some I do. And every single one with avast causes crashes. Ones that don't have avast don't crash.

Anyone else having this problem? Because I'm getting very fed up with problems with Comodo Firewall & Avast AV. It seem's every now & again, one will update to cause a serious conflict with the other & it messes up systems.

Also, do so mething with the verification image. Not only does the Listen sound nothing like the letters. The images are difficult as hell to read.

Thanks

Have you switched off the Enable hardware-assisted virtualisation setting in the avastUI > Menu > General > Troubleshooting ?

If not try that the two may be conflicting.

I believe new installations of Avast have this disable by default, though older installations may still have the setting enabled.
