Please, can you advise on how to fix the following error:

'Unable to open shortcut, the protocol avast html does not have a registered program!'

Please provide more info to assist others in possible resolution.
What OS> 32 or 64 Bit
What Anti virus> Avast free/premium and version
What shortcut?
