Hi,
I have noticed that Avast 14.1 takes longer to start up than the previous version (before the re-design).
The shields also take a little longer to activate (red exclamation mark on the icon and the message: We're sorry, there's some problem on our side if I look at the shields window).

drake145,
Is it a temporary situation that disappears? Reproducible every time? Would you mind to record a screencast (quicktime player allows it) for me?

Yes, it is reproducible every time I start-up or re-start.
I recorded a screencast, but it says the file is too large to attach, so I grabbed a screenshot.
The video I had recorded showed that it took about 1min 45 sec from the icon appearing on the menu bar, to the shields being green.
Update:
I tried to upload it at 480p, but it won't go through.

Updated to 14.2 today and still the same.

I am not sure if there is a correlation, but after yesterday's supplemental update for macOS, the start-up is much faster. I will keep an eye on it for a few days.
Update: The speed up from the supplemental update seems to have been temporary, as It's been slow for the past 2 days.
