Title: ransomware shield will not stay on
Post by: Blair9 on September 28, 2019, 12:02:19 AM
The ransomware shield will not stay on. I do this:

Settings>Protection>Ransomware Shield>slider to "ON"   [either smart or strict mode] & all file types selected
Settings>Protection>any of the other menu options - I don't change anything
Settings>Protection>Ransomware Shiled  - the slider is "OFF"

This also happens with rootkit detection except this feature is turned on/off with a checkbox not a slider.

Latest version of Premier updated yesterday.

What am I doing wrong or not doing?

So tried to find repair option. Google leads me to avast site that says Avast repair requires a right click on App and then select repair option. What the heck is an App in windows? Went to uninstall program in IOBit Uninstaller and  right clicked on icon in that program that is, I think, a link to the installer. Had a repair option. The repair option showed a screen where you choose what components to install. All were already checked so I just continued. Nothing happened except prompt to reboot computer. Did so and now all is working. So fix was restarting computer? Should have known to have tried that even though the machine had cycled several times after update installed.

As a throw away comment: The verification letters are near impossible to read and the speak letters function does NOT work in firefox.
