Title: Avast Internet Security Firewall can't be turned off

hi
My Avast Internet Security Firewall can't be turned off.
It just hanged there when I tried to turn it off.
I already tried the repair function as taught here:

This is important to some people because the Firewall blocked teh connection to company network of scanner, etc.
So have to turn it off sometimes when using those devices.
Anyone experience this issue before and like to offer suggestion?

Also uninstalled, and reinstalled Avast Internet Security.
Same issue.

- Which version of AIS..?
- OS..? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP/Build..?)
- Other security related software installed..?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast..?

The Avast Firewall will cause network profile issues. You can go in Services and stop the Avast firewall service manually, but you won't be able to change its startup type or disable it. I have Avast Premier as well. Now I am using the Windows Firewall until Avast addresses their issues. You can uninstall the Avast Firewall component as well for the time being. It's a shame that we paid for the AV and Firewall suite, but now the usage will only be for the Antivirus components and protection. Avast has been dodging this firewall issue since earlier this year when an update ruined everything. Many of us are praying that they get their *#&t together.

If it is relevant, I am using Avast Internet Security on Windows 10 computer, 64 bit
After some trial, it seems I cannot turn off the firewall by accessing "protection" on the left of the dashboard.
However, the following route seem to be working (for now):
Menu/Settings/Protection/Firewall, then shift the "on" tablet to the left.
