Title: Blue dot alerts on tray icon
Post by: gab4moi on October 26, 2019, 05:48:09 PM
Hey all, have the free version, using silent mode, despite this last few days the tray icon blue dot advising notifications of blocked threats has appeared. Not required or desired, any ideas how to fix?

It just means there is a Notification, which could be for a number of things not just blocked threats.

Have you visited the Notifications area in the User Interface ?
You should be able to view the notifications and either action or ignore them, effectively clearing the notifications.  That should also clear the blue dot on the tray icon.

Thanks DavidR :D  I understand the reasoning and the process but thought that silent mode eliminated the blue dot, I check notifications from time to time but don't want the blue dot to keep appearing... and until a couple of days ago it never did.  No gamebreaker, but I wondered if there may have been an update that changed the silent mode settings, which I assumed de dotted the dot! :)

You're welcome.

As far as I'm aware, Silent Mode won't change the Blue dot function 'as it is essentially silent.'

FYI a couple times after doing a wifi scan the blue dot wouldn't disappear even after seeing and dismissing the notification. Only a complete reboot got rid of it. Not too important but annoying.
