Title: Firefox Browser History
Post by: gabanks2019 on November 20, 2019, 04:05:17 PM
During the last few months, the older history in my Firefox browser has disappeared. The oldest history shown is "Last 7 Days." Is there a setting in Avast that controls whether the browser history is deleted? If so, where is the setting? I checked settings in CCleaner to make sure it doesn't delete browser history. Help in solving this mystery will be greatly appreciated.

I would start looking in firefox first, most browsers have a autodelete setting

Personally I don't bother much about retaining history, if you have bookmarked regularly used sites.  But as far as I'm aware there is no specific setting in avast that would control browser history.  That said you don't say what avast version you are using and or if you run on-demand scans, like the Smart Scan depending on what Avast Components you have installed (Avast CleanUp paid version being one, that could possibly do this).

Firefox has had some recent updates that seek to protect the users privacy, etc. this could impact on your browser history.

I tend to have lots of my history erased when I close firefox.
