Title: Windows XP Security Center "Out of Date"
Post by: f16gash on August 24, 2006, 07:21:01 AM
Windows XP Security Center indicates that the "avast! antivirus 4.7.871 [VPS 0634-1] reports that it may be out of date" 08/23/2006

Any reason as to why this would show up in the Security Center, especially since the avast db was updated with the most recent VPS?

Windows XP sp2, Firewall "on" and Automatic Updates "on", Virus Protection "Out of Date"

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Gash

I think that usual answer in this case is that you check very carefully that the day, month and year of your system is correct.

For most of us it is about 23rd or 24th day of the 8th month (August) of the year 2006.

Well you have the latest VPS version so it looks like Alan's check the system date is the way to go.

Okay after an hour of listening to my wife yell at me because she has to click on security screens ( i installed Comdo's firewall) - KISS!!  The time / date was October 2006 doh!!

Forgive my ignorance!  Thanks to all for the suggestions....it has made my wife happy...
