Title: Scan stops at 0%

I installed the latest free version of Avast on a brand new Windows 10 build 1909 computer and when it is asked to do a scan, it starts for a few moments but then the current file stops updating and it appears to stall at 0%, even if left alone for many hours. What can we do to correct this short of uninstalling and reinstalling?

You could restart your PC;
Try different scan options:https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Antivirus-PC-virus-scan;
Repair Avast Anti-virus:https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Repair-Antivirus
