After a scan yesterday I saw that Google allo was detected as malware with no extra information provided. I discovered that this app has been discontinued and my thoughts was that maybe that could have something to do with it. Anyone else experienced this ? Running Android 10 on a pixel xl with the latest security update.
Thanks

Same here,
Pixel 2 XL, Android 10 with last updates

It’s very odd , good to know it’s not an isolated event.
-
Same here, I removed it for now, is it a false positive perhaps? :-\
Also Pixel 2 XL, Android 10 with last updates

Hmm strange. I’m guessing it is , would love to get their input on it if possible.

Is anyone from Avast responding to these posts? This is my first time posting here.
-
They may ,usually they do. I mean if it’s a bug I’m sure they would have interest.

Same here. I figured i'd jump in and maybe with enough reports we can get someone to look into it. On second thought isn't Allo depreciated and was replaced with Duo?
-
It’s more I’d just like to know if it was a false positive. So I can chill ahaha

Same here on a Pixel 2 and a Nexus 5X (though I've never used Allo and had forgotten it was still on them) so I just uninstalled it on both. I see today a report on Android Authority that Huawei phones are also warning users that the app is "infected".

Hi, I am trying to get someone from the Virus Lab, but everyone is on holiday, will get back to you on Monday, thanks for understanding.
-
Hi, colleagues have confirmed false positive, the app should not be flagged from now on.
-
Thank you very much for your investigation and work. It’s much appreciated ✌️
