Title: Wi-Fi Inspector and the Kr00k vulnerability
Post by: loungehake on February 27, 2020, 09:03:51 PM
I have become aware of the Kr00k vulnerability.
It is described here:- https://borncity.com/win/2020/02/27/kr00k-wi-fi-vulnerability-puts-millions-of-devices-at-risk/ (https://borncity.com/win/2020/02/27/kr00k-wi-fi-vulnerability-puts-millions-of-devices-at-risk/)

Could Avast Wi-Fi Inspector be hoped to include this issue among its checks? Router updates are more tricky to acquire than those for PCs and tablets and phones.

It is said that an attacker needs to be in the close vicinity of a target device so maybe it's an unlikely event. Devices using Broadcom and Cypress chips are apparently vulnerable so I am presently looking hideously smug that my preferred Wi-Fi access points are kitted with Atheros chips. Please don't tell me that Atheros Wi-Fi chips are dangerously vulnerable and wipe that revoltingly smug smile off my face.
