Is there a way to turn off constant advertisements and notifications about all of your great and useless crap that I don't want. I paid you for an anti-virus, I want nothing more, this is getting old. If I can't turn it off I'll just find a paid product that doesn't constantly try to sell me something.

You can disable the ads in the paid versions: Avast GUI -> Settings -> Personal Privacy

In my humble opinion, in a paid version, this should be turned off by default.

Couldn't agree more, pi55ing off the paying customers isn't good, whilst us Avast Free(loaders) can put up with it or try and find an alternative.  The last thing Avast wants if paid customers looking for an alternative (considering they are already paying for an AV). 

There may well be many paid AVs out there to choose from and not as many free AVs

Completely agree!

Will Avast change the default position to "Off" before the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection investigation makes them do it.
