Title: Private<—>Public Profile Issue
Post by: smc425 on March 10, 2020, 12:11:05 AM
I just updated my Avast Premium Security to the latest version 20.1 and now the Network Profile option in Protection->Firewall settings is stuck on Public. The arrow tab will not slide over to the left. I had the same issue with the previous software, where the arrow slider would immediately revert back to Public network continuously. Now the arrow remains locked in Public setting. I was hoping this latest release fixed this glitch but apparently in my case it has not.

Have you restarted the computer? If a second restart still makes no difference,
try a repair.

Repair Avast:
Open the Avast User Interface > Menu > Settings > Troubleshooting > Repair App. > Restart the Computer or,
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

No luck on the restarts or the repair. Does anyone else have their network profile(arrow slider)stuck to the right on Public?

1. Download Avast Premium Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premium_security_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.
