Title: Is GOG.com distributing virus-infected video games for PC?
Post by: alicialeuner on March 24, 2020, 04:57:05 AM
In “Google News” a news story appeared that the company GOG.com was giving away old video games that they usually sell. I investigated and the site seemed safe. Many recommend it. So I downloaded several video games, but without installing them; I only opened four RAR files that were compressed and the content was avatar photos and manuals. Pass AVAST antivirus over open files and applications. Don't install the apps yet. AVAST said it had found no problems.
However, the next day, I still did not install the programs and anyway I noticed that the computer was very slow. The following day, AVAST issued an alert notice; something like: The process shield is disabled; activate it to continue providing security!
Coincidence or is GOG.com distributing Russian viruses?
