Title: Bart CD installation problems- help needed
Post by: adiminca on January 20, 2004, 12:39:40 AM
I have a problem running Avast Bart CD program ( trial version).
I downloaded it and installed it following the instructions.
The instalation process went OK, but when I try to start the program I get the following error message :

          "RUNDLL
Error loading C:\PROGRA~1\Alwil
The specified module could not be found"

The " Alwil Software" folder exists in my "Program files" and it's size seem to be OK: 62,1 MB.What's wrong and what can I do?

Technical data: my system is Athlon XP 2700+, 512 MB DDRAM PC 400, HDD 40 GB,  Operating system Windows Xp Professional +SP 1
I have Norton Antivirus 2004 installed, but I disabled it before installing and trying to use Avast Bart CD

Oops, it seems that the installer somehow could not resolve the long pathname (with spaces in it) to the short alternative (this is necessary as rundll32 requires short pathnames).

Probably the easiest work around would be to uninstall the program, and install it again, this time to folder with 8.3 filenames and no spaces in it - like C:\BART .

Thanks

Thanks a lot! I tried a new installation using the "c:\Bart" path  and the installation went OK. IT WORKS! Once again, thank you.

BTW, no need to disable Norton in this case... It's completely independent (the BART CD Manager is no antivirus, it's just an app that renders ISO files...)
