Title: received message automatic connected to Network Gigabit Network connection

Hi.  Avast sent me a message saying, You've connected to a new network Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection and I didn't connect to anything at that time, nor did I connect to another network ever.  I'm hard wired in my network.  So who is this network I supposedly connected to?  Did I get highjacked?
