Hey, sukpmp, thank you for sharing the issue!
Could you please specify what page URL you open while getting this issue? Or you mean this happen on default page right after you open the browser?

Sukpmp, thank you for providing diagnostic information, before I try to reproduce the issue with your set-up could you please check if this page also has no Adblock for you: https://www.nytimes.com/ (The New York Times page).

The reason why I'm asking is because some pages are whitelisted for Adblock by default (for example this page, as it's a part of avast.com) and you did not provide other examples to compare.

The NY Times goes green and stays green.
Ebay green
Amazon grey

Sukpmp, thank you for answering. I do not see wrong behavior here, because listed examples are whitelisted by Avast Secure Browser. If you want to know a reason behind this, here it is:

Search-engine or some news services (websites, applications, newsfeeds, etc) are the only type of websites that users visit with the explicit intention of finding something specific as quickly as possible and as easy as possible. Therefore, in order to provide the best experience and the best results, these type of websites and applications need to be able to access our browsing history and allow content and ads to show within users feeds or search results. So they are not blocked on purpose.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or suggestions on the topic.

That's really helpful, thanks.

Do you know anything about the mac version of the browser? That doesn't appear to have the adblock included? Is that correct?

Mac version should also contain Adblock. Yesterday version 83.0 was released. Please update your mac browser and if you still do not have Adblock please post diagnostic information here, I'll try to help.  :D

Hi sukpmp,

In your case I would recommend to reinstall your browser. According to your diagnostic information it looks that it was not installed properly, I can't even see the Adblock in Enabled extensions.

Hope that helps, sorry for inconvenience caused!

Hi sukpmp,

Due to update issues on Mac, uninstalling the browser doesn't delete all files that were created. For this reason, there is no cid to bring the Adblock extension.
So in order to delete all browsers files, after you delete Avast Secure Browser from "Application",  you need:

1.To go to Users /<current_user> /Library /Application support / AVAST Software
2.Once there delete the AVAST Software folder.

To make a fresh install, please download the production version from ASB on our product page, see here:
https://www.avast.com/en-gb/secure-browser#mac

Please let me know if you have any issues.
Thank you!

I've been through the Uninstall process outlined and it's not made any difference. Should the adblocker icon definitely appear on the toolbar?

Once there added the file, open ASB browser and check Diagnostic Information.
Please let me know if you have any issues.

Did you close your browser before adding the file?
The steps should be:
1. Close browser.
2. Add file "com.avast.AvastSecureBrowser.plist" in: " Users/ <current_user> / Library / Preferences"
3. Open browser.
Once you have added the file, you should have all the extensions.

Thank you.

Can you, please, check if the file "com.avast.AvastSecureBrowser.plist" was added in your path: /Users/mike/Library/Preferences?

Ok, I've spotted the issue - the plist file you provided was com.avastAvastSecureBrowser.plist - missing the "." between avast and Avast.

Sorted now. Thanks very much.

Do you know why I didn't have the correct plist file initially?
