Title: antivirusedition.com doesn't handle correctly Avast Business for linux licences
Post by: B59 on June 21, 2020, 10:32:57 AM
Hi,

after months of efforts and despite Avast is still not available for Centos 8, we decided to use Avast in an important projet for our biggest client -- a huge French company .

Few days back we bought first licences  -- many must follow. As a reseller we used the dedicated plateform antivirusedition.com. But we didn't receive any licence.avastlic files... Instead we got an activation code to use for the windows edition ! And the technical support doesn't understand a thing !  >:( >:(

You MUST fixed that as soon as possible or we will have no choice but change AVAST for ESET despite the cost for us. We also need to be contacted as soon as possible by someone to provide expected licences-- even temporary licences.

Avast should be compatible with Centos 8, as reported here:
https://www.avast.com/business/products/antivirus-for-linux (https://www.avast.com/business/products/antivirus-for-linux)

As far as I know license files aren't provided anymore. Instead you can generate the license file with the avastlic tool:
https://deb.avast.com/lin/doc/techdoc.pdf (https://deb.avast.com/lin/doc/techdoc.pdf) (Paragraph 4. Licensing)

You would still need a license code for the correct product.

At least this is what I know at the moment

Ok thanks guys, indeed this procedure to generate the licence file was new for us.

Too bad the technical support was not able to explain it ...

At least we can deliver the product to our client.

Did you maybe (by mistake) contact consumer support..?
