Title: "Avast Engine Server" taking way too much CPU while downloading games.
Post by: Dubiet on July 24, 2020, 10:59:09 AM
Sir,
"Avast Antivirus engine server" is taking way to much of CPU when downloading games (only) from "Epic Launcher". This problem does not occur with other Game Clients. I want this to be stopped hence I need your help.

Thankyou

Given your screenshot a good guess would be an interaction between Avast and MBAM.

Many of us on the forums have given up on MBAM as it has become bloated, but more so having two resident/on-access security based programs installed can lead to conflict.

Hi Dubiet,
can you please capture a xpeft log and upload it to analysis ?

1) Download xperf or wpa package it is win dependent so if you have win 7 download xperf for win 7 etc... !

2) Start cmd as admin and type to start profiling:
xperf.exe -on DiagEasy+DISPATCHER+Profile -stackwalk profile+CSwitch+ReadyThread -start user -on 72AA3505-D4D6-4527-A088-92534DA1082C

3) Stop profiling
xperf.exe -stop user -stop -d xperf_merged.etl

4) Zip the xperf_merged.etl file as Dubiet_7_2020_xperf.zip Upload it to avast ftp server (https://support.avast.com/en-eu/article/FTP-file-upload)

Thanks for help !
