Hi Everybody,
I'm discovering that Avast Premium is creating and filling folders right in the PROGRAM FILES (x86) directory.
Each of these new folders is named G*.tmp and blocks about 20-30 MB in my storage.
Can anyone explain or even direct me to an Avast produced KB article?
Many thanks,
Paul

Do you mean the C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\x86 folder ?
A screenshot might help, as I don't see it in my x86 folder. But then I'm only using avast free..

Hi David,
You're right. The directory is C:/Program Files (x86)/
All of the G*.tmp directories are off this general root directory.
GUM*.tmp

Strange, mind you I don't know if these could be related to some of the Avast Premium components not in Avast Free.
How old are these G*.tmp folders and any file contents ?

How do you know that those folders are created by Avast? Do you know what process?
-
i know the directories are created by AVAST! because they are full of AVAST! files
I'm gonna erase them anyway. Thanks, Guys

What files in particular? Can you give us a few examples of the exact filenames?

Seems to be related to ASB updates, see: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=235373.0
