Yes, I searched the forums first but the search engine seems a little wonky.
On every computer I have Avast Free Antivirus installed the browser always starts on a reboot. The browser pops a little message at the top and "claims" I have it set to start on boot and there is a button for settings to click on. When I go to settings it is turned off. The Avast browser ignores the fact I have it set to not start on boot and starts anyhow. I have tried toggling the setting on and off several times to no avail. I am about at the point of just uninstalling Avast. Does anyone have any idea why it is ignoring my settings?
TIA

Maybe you are not the only one with this ASB problem.
Take a look at this established thread on same subject:
https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=235407.0
I suggest you post there also, giving details of your operating system version.
In the meantime, have you tried these things:
1. Repair Avast: Open user interface, Menu>Settings>Troubleshooting [REPAIR APP]
2. Reinstall Avast Secure Browser and perform a Restart (or two).

The other thread did not have anything useful.
But, your repair solution seems to have done the trick.
Thanks!

Glad it was that simple.
