Title: BSOD when I open the MSI App Player
Post by: MrWhitman on September 24, 2020, 08:45:44 AM
I just installed Avast Premium Security and it gives me BSOD when I open the MSI App Player which is based on BlueStacks. After several trials and errors I was able to run the application by disabling the "Enable Rootkit Detection" and "hardware-assisted virtualization" option in the core shields of Avast. I do not feel comfortable deactivating this option every time I want to open the MSI App, it would be very helpful if you could repair and update the program.  :-\

Could you please upload (e.g. to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming (ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming)) a few corresponding dumps from C:\Windows\Minidump? Preferably packed into an archive with a unique name, and post the file name here afterwards.
Thanks.

Sorry, when I follow the instructions and try to upload the file I get this error: Copying files to remote side failed.
Could not create file.

That's why I uploaded the file to a download site and sent a private message earlier.

Got the dump and forwarded it to the relevant person - thanks.
It seems to be connected to BlueStacks virtualization somehow; we'll prepare a fix or workaround.
