Title: Connecting/Updating many, many times a day
Post by: rayjbell on January 23, 2004, 04:14:15 AM
First, a big thanks - Avast really cleaned my system!

I have found that the Avast (Home) program connects to the internet many, many times a day to update its definitions.  Is there a way to reduce this to, say, twice a week?

Thanks,

 Ray

No, Avast checks on Windows start up and every four hours.  You can turn the automatic update off and manually check a couple times a week though.  There is also an idea by Technical that will probably work for you:
