Title: How to prevent Avast from sending my files for testing
Post by: liliumatratum on October 15, 2020, 03:40:15 PM
I tried to run an application that I am developping and got a notification, that the file is very unique and it has been sent to Avanst servers for further testing.
There was no dialog, asking me if I want to do it. It just happened.
How do I stop Avast from doing it now and ever again!?

The application is a program I am developing, containing some proprietary code that should not leave my computer. Seems I wasn't cautious enough, and allowed the software to be "stolen", but I really didn't expect this angle of an attack, from the software that is supposed to help me stay secure.

P.S. I had to type the verification letters 4 times to post this. Seems my human eye OCR is not good enough for your tests ;)

Either disable CyberCapture and/or exclude your dev-environment.

Found the CyberCapture options. Thank you!

As for whitelisting - we are not at that point yet. The executable changes way too often.
