Title: How to stop Avast spam?
Post by: oktay4 on October 29, 2020, 05:42:32 PM
I keep getting pop up alerts from avast and when I click on it it tries to sell me another service.
In most cases the alert is fake, like I have my own vpn and yet I get an alert that my ip address is exposed and when I click the alert, it tries to sell me a vpn service.
How can I stop this spam alerts?
They are unethical as I am a paying customer.

It's not spam. Those are just avast promotions. if you are using the free version you can't really do much, but if you're using the paid product you can disable them in the privacy section of the settings.

Thanks, I am a paying customer. In Privacy tab, there are passwords, data shredder, secureline vpn, webcam shield, antitrack premium and sensitive data shield tabs.
I couldnt find how to disable these messages popping up, can you please explain the process ?

You looking in the wrong place, you need to look in the AvastUI > Menu > Settings > Personal Privacy.

See attached image, I'm using Avast Free so have less options, you should have more.

Hi,

Webcam Shield etc. is in Privacy.
What you are looking for is Personal Privacy (as in the screenshot above)
AvastUI > Menu > Settings > General > Personal Privacy

I think fixed. Thanks for the help.
I still think it is a spam at best, giving me an alert that my ip is exposed to sell a product when it is not exposed as I already use a vpn. :)
