Title: Avast browser saving my web history even when I'm using a different browser
Post by: notabot515 on November 02, 2020, 04:06:00 AM
I seldom run Avast Browser.  I frequently run CCleaner to clean out my browsing history and random cookies.  This has lead to a revelation.

According to CCleaner, Avast Browser is saving data on my web browsing habits, even when I use another browser.  This is a relatively new development.  Avast Browser did not used to do this.
It saves history when I use Firefox
It saves history when I use Chrome.
This is not cool.

Why is Avast Browser doing this?
More importantly, how can I make it stop?

Here is an example.
I ran CCleaner to remove everything
Then I used Firefox and visited several sites.  I did not have Avast Browser running at the time.
Then I ran CCleaner to see what was there.
I got this showing that Avast is saving data about my browsing, even when I have not been using it.
