Hi,
is Avast Free Antivirus (20.9.2437 (build 20.9.5758.615)) designed to prevent the Integrated Camera to work?
In my experience, I can see it running just for a second, then it is suddenly turned off.
Any help to fix?
Thanks.

No, that's a feature of the paid version.

Might be I didn't understand well the answer due to ambiguity in my question :D
So, I rephrase it: Is with Avast Free Antivirus possible to use the integrated camera? I want to use it with Skype but I cannot...
Thanks!

@Asyn.
Are you serious that you are blocked from using your integrated webcam is default with Avast Premium?
I think the OP is looking for a setting or some advice to stop that happening.

Hi, I never said it's per default. Anyway, there's no such option in Avast Free.

If I understand well, with Avast Free there are no options to manage permissions on camera, and it should work.
So, as in my experience with Avast Free the camera is every time automatically turned off after less than a second, what should be the root cause?
Please note in W10 >Settings >Privacy I have the integrated camera enabled.
Is there a log available somewhere to help?
Thanks.

1. Correct.
2. No idea, does it work if Avast is disabled..?

@Asyn. Sorry, my bad. I read "No, that's a feature of the paid version" as cause of problem mentioned by OP was due to feature in Premium. I had forgotten the OP has Avast Free, so Avast Webcam Shield would therefore not be the cause of his webcam issue.
Answer maybe for OP to check Camera settings in Windows.
Settings>Privacy>Camera. (Win10)
Check apps that can access Camera and that Skype is set = on.

Thanks to your comment I tested and eventually realized it doesn't work properly even if Avast is disabled... so I started to search a solution and found it!
Problem is quite common for Lenovo T4xx / T5xx machines and the solution is simply to add 2 registry keys as published here: https://www.lorenzomillucci.it/2020/04/09/lenovo-webcam-non-funzionante-su-windows-10/ (https://www.lorenzomillucci.it/2020/04/09/lenovo-webcam-non-funzionante-su-windows-10/).
And now, finally back to Skype to videocall :D
Ciao!
