I use avast! for 2 monthes : good product.
Today, I've had an e-mail with Damaru-Y virus detected by avast.
In Internet Mail configuration ( Heuristic ), if I set it to High the subject structure is not set ( in help, it's written :
High. In addition to the preceding:
Subject structure check. avast! checks if e-mail Subject does not contain bigger amount of nonsensical characters, which is always suspicious. E.g. if the subject contains character sequence "<?*&$^*(^%#$%*_()", warning will be displayed..
To have this control active, I must use "custom" and then check "subject structure check".
Can someone tell me why Subject structure check is not active in High mode ?

Because it's not the default for High?

When I set Heuristics setting to High, I have :
* Basic attachments check
- According to name and Content-Type
* Check whitespaces sequence
- Maximum admissible length of sequence: 5
* HTML part check - local iframe
* HTML part check - remote iframe
* Thorough check of attachments
* Outbound messages - Time period check
- Checked time: 30 s.
- Warning count: 5
- Check according to subject
- Check according to attachments
* Outbound messages - Mass messages
- Absolute count (TO,CC,BCC): 10
- Relative count (Address book): 20 %
- Minimal count: 10
but not
* Message structure check
which is only available with custom.
In Help, message structure check comes with High.
Am I right or is there a little problem somewhere ?
