Title: Avast needs to allow alternate methods of managing subscriptions
Post by: kmanstudios on December 05, 2020, 02:13:09 AM
Avast has really messed me up here by not allowing alternative methods of migrating subscriptions. I actually chatted with a support person and I was supposed to have my subscriptions migrated to a new email because I lost my old email due to the pandemic and not being able to afford my original email service.

All avenues are linked to that email (digital river sent email to old/non-existant email, so cannot get into email with order number) My subscriptions do not show up as migrated and have been double billed (I paid for a year subscription manually and then got autobilled for 2 years today) and have no recourse.

I find it very, very disturbing that there is no other way to take care of things than to access a defunct email address.

Hi kmanstudios,
Did you create an avast account (https://account.avast.com/) with your old address?

If yes, you can change the e-mail address to the new one in "account settings".

If not, since you can no longer create an account (due to verification) with your old address that contains your licenses, you will need to contact avast (https://support.avast.com/contact/paid) and explain your concerns (as much information as possible should be given in the "details" field as the old address used).
nb:As you did not get an order ID, enter "00000000" instead. ;)
