So i've determined that Avast is causing slow boot ups. Already removed avast and tested boot up and it was fast like it was before upgrading to Big Sur. Reinstalled Avast and boot ups are slow again. It appears after logging into mac and waiting for desktop to fully load. Mac has plenty of memory and running on SSD drive.

Hello,
unfortunately there seems to be an issue with the new Endpoint Security framework that File Shield needs to use on Big Sur; it manifests as a slowdown of resume for some users. We have reported it to Apple. We have also released a workaround in Avast 14.7 which should minimise chance of this issue occurring, however we are aware that it is not 100% effective. We are actively searching for an alternative workaround and hope for a fix of the underlying issue from the Apple's side.
We apologise for this issue
Kind regards,
Ondrej Kolacek

Any update on this? I installed Avast again since removing it after my original posting and it appears not to have any tweaks or fixes since my question.

Should i remove it and put it back on. I know that you all were getting with Apple to get a fix implemented. Was that done?
