Title: avast! memory usage
Post by: clweb on April 19, 2003, 03:48:06 PM
Hi,
It is known that avast! is memory hungry. But today, looking closer the task mamanger, it was the peak memory usage (more than 200kB).  :-[
I'm using Windows XP Home with SP1, and last avast! update from 17/04/2003.
Apart the memory consumption, I'm very happy with avast!  :)
Good job, keep going on

This is not exactly true - task manager numbers could be misleading. See the following thread for details: http://www.avast.com/forum/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=37;start=0

Apart from that: Do you think 200 kB of memory is too much  ;D ?

Oops, I mistyped. It was 200MB !
Don't know why so much yesterday.
Today I have 22MB in maximum usage.
and yes if I make the total of the usage in the VM column I get 19MB.
Thanks for the info.
