I cannot believe I have to ask this.
Ever since dinosaurs roamed the planet Earth, people have been able to get a certain web page to pop up every time they opened their web browser.
I cannot figure out how to set a Home Page in Avast Secure Browser. I have Google'd this 1000 different ways and all I get is "how to set a default browser".
I don't want to set a default browser.
I want to use Avast Secure Browser. And I want it to load a certain web page every time I use it. Is this too much to ask?
-
I don't use ASB, but check this - Avast Secure Browser FAQ - See https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Secure-Browser-FAQ/ (https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Secure-Browser-FAQ/).
That said have you ever used Google Chrome, if so the ASB is a chromium based browser, so I would guess it is the same/similar.

Maybe I'm missing something, but this is not answering my question. I wanted "to get a certain web page to pop up every time I opened the web browser."
This "home button" concept doesn't do that. I open the browser -- still shows me the Avast search bar page.
I press Control-N -- the new window still gives me Avast search bar page.
The "home button" just puts a button on every page that I can press to make my desired page appear. I want my desired page to pop up when I open the browser.
I read the Google Chrome instructions -- now I see, the thing I want has been re-named "Startup Page". That's what I want. How do I set a "Startup Page" in ASB?

Since the ASB is Chromium based, did you read the link i gave in my first post ?
Or you can check out this google search.

Yes I did.
Are you suggesting that this link somehow answers my problem?
-
Yes (the second link in reply #1) or I wouldn't have posted it.
The google search results in my post you quoted - I have given you a start point, you need to examine the results and try some to see if it works.
The only problem is that I haven't used chrome browsers and have no intention of starting now.

You are sending me on a wild goose chase. Avast's browser does not have the same menu as Chrome.
Chrome allows you to do what I am asking for.
I cannot find any way to do this in Avast.
That is why I have come here, asking for help.
-
I can't do it for you, I don't even use the Avast Secure Browser.
There will either be a menu/settings function somewhere, as rocksteady has pointed out. Whilst that may not have exactly been what you were looking for it is a start point.
Avast Secure Browser, go to ⋮ Menu (three dots) ▸ Settings - and see if there is an option for a Start Page.
-
Go to Settings --> scroll down to New Session --> Open a specific page or set of pages --> Add a new page

Restart your browser and you'll be greeted with your new start page.
