Title: Your Registration has expired
Post by: SoVast on January 25, 2021, 08:04:10 PM
I just registered my Avast Free version 11.1
in November 2020 which is barely 60 days ago

Now I get a message

"Your Registration has expired"

I tried to fix it a number of times but no luck.

I go to Offline registration and click on Insert the License key

I go to
https://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus

I use the instructions
"please use this universal key:"
W11332244H9900A0420-8MRTR8W5

copy / paste it
and I get a message saying:

"The license key has already expired"

Please help.

Is there no more Free Avast Antivirus? or is it just for 60 days

That license key as far as I'm aware is for very old versions of avast, not the latest versions.
Extract from the page you visited "If you're using Avast Free Antivirus version 7 or older, please use this universal key:"

Can you attach a screenshot in the topic of the "Your Registration has expired" screen. See my attached screenshot.

How did you try to fix it ?

Have you tried an Avast Repair ?

Thank you DavidR for your reply

I am using an older version 11.1
I has worked really well until January 2021

I have not tried to repair it, just to register it, because it says "registration expired.
otherwise I have no reason to touch it

That is certainly a different from any PopUp I have seen for Avast Free, but whilst it is an old version 11.1 it wouldn't be valid for the " Avast Free Antivirus version 7 or older" statement, older as in earlier than Avast 7.

The problem I face (and many other helpers on the forums) is, it is many years since I have used Avast 11.1, so we will be very unfamiliar with it.

What Operating System are you using, or is there a reason why you are still running avast 11.1 ?

I can only assume that you tried to register it in the same way as 60 days ago ?
e.g. clicking on the Registration form option in your image.

Yes it is not "version 7 or older" but the registration key worked for me without issues.

I'm using Avast 11.1 because I need it for an old PC running Windows 7 32-bit and just 3GB of RAM.
and the newer Avast versions are such memory hogs.

Is there another version you recommend?

You didn't answer this question, which may or may not help resolve your existing problem.

Unfortunately I can't really recommend a version based on your system and old avast versions, as a user I just kept my system and Avast up to date as far as I could without making notes on what each versions impact was.  I would only really note/remember if I had an issue with a version.

I had an old Win XP Pro system and I think that had 4GB of Ram and Avast Installed and I went up to the very last supported version which was 18.8.  But I dropped back to avast free 18.5 as from 18.6 I experienced performance issues.  I stayed with that right up until my XP system effectively died.

Don't forget you can do a custom install and do a minimal installation.

Try this link for old versions.

Again thank you for your reply.

Do you mean the ORANGE "Register NOW" button?

That doesnt work for years, I think everyone has been reporting that

I thought I described how I tried to register. in my first post

The universal key has been working for many versions, and suddenly stopped working.
Here are some reports from other users in 2019

I understand you have very limited resources,
I am just mentioning these because I think these users were waiting for an answer from a developer and it doesn't seem that they got answered.

In anyways I appreciate trying to help.
