It's my PC. I own the Admin account. And I am logged in as an Administrator. Why has your software stopped me from having Windows/Microsoft update run automatically by changing the priviledges required for me to change the setting to do so. "Some settings are managed by your organization". And how do I reverse this?

- Which Avast..? (Free/Premium)
- Which version/build of Avast..?
- OS..? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP/Build..?)
- Other security related software installed..?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast..?
-
Thanks for your time.
Windows 7 x64.
Avast Premium Security (20.10.2442 (build 20.10.5824.626)) x64.
No other security software installed.
Which AV did I use before Avast? BitDefender and i've been using Avast since I uninstalled BitDefender back in July 2019.
Last Windows/Microsoft 'automatic' update was 11/11/20. So whatever changed to give me that message and stop me from changing the update settings happened between then and when I made the opening post.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of any prior installed AV(s)..!!
-> https://support.avast.com/article/11/
Then:
1. Download Avast Premium Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premium_security_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

Sorry about the late reply, I was away from my PC for a while.
I did all you asked but I cannot tell whether this fixed it or not as I had already taken control again by using the local group policy editor. The changes I made to give my admin account control over windows update settings have perseisted after several reboots. I can only assume that the last Avast update fixed whatever the issue was.
Thanks again for your support and time.
