So I had bought a new computer a just recently and installed Avast Premium that I still had onto it but when I did so I noticed that my PC was going through numerous stutters whether I was playing any games, watching videos or stream or even just moving my mouse back and forth on web pages.
I uninstalled Avast to make sure that it was the cause and sure enough when it was gone everything was all good. I'm positive I had the most recent version of premium downloaded from the website and I even tried the same thing with the free version and it also caused the stutters as well. I tried repairing Avast and it did nothing and as stated before I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous time with no change. I wanted to know if there was a wide accepted fix for this so I can continue to use Avast premium while I have it

Perhaps your pc is slow itself and can't handle an antivirus?

Apologies, I didnt realize there were more, just thought it was blurb.
Windows 10 64 bit
No other security software other than the default windows defender on my PC
And I havent used any others beside Avast

1. Download Avast Premium Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premium_security_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

I'm unable to use the link to get the offline version of Avast, it just opens and closes a tab and doesn't start the download

Okay now I managed to download the latest version of Avast that dropped this month and I followed all the steps while also disabling Windows Defender, the stuttering is gone from everything except when I'm gaming now. There's still a stutter while playing games that I have downloaded (FF14, COD MW, etc...)
