Title: Easy2Sync and FileRepMalware
Post by: kevfra on February 15, 2021, 09:25:55 PM
Recently tried upgrading to latest Easy2Sync program and received FileRepMalware message from Avast and the file was moved to the virus chest.  I've been using Easy2Sync for years and seems like a legit program.   Wondering if it is a false positive.  Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thank you.

Thank you!  I'll upload it and see what they say.

You can also test files here   https://www.virustotal.com/

If and when you do, note scan date at top right, if old (a cached result from a previous scan) then click refresh button above scan date

There is a detail tab that will give lots of extra file info.
This info will not be correct if you upload a zipped/compressed file, then the detail info will be for the zip container

Thanks - I ran the scan.  Only one engine detection by eGamibit - the result= "Unsafe.AI_Score_99%"  Interestingly enough, Avast showed it as clean.

Avast seems to have fixed the issue.  It no longer appears as Malware.

Funny thing with avast is that sometimes on virustotal the detection won't show, but in reality cyber capture or any other layor beyond real time protection can still block it.
